Students will be notified by the Office of the Registrar when their examination results are released. If students wish to appeal their results, please be mindful of the deadline. Transcripts will be available approximately two months after the official release of examination results and will be sent to their SMU email addresses. Please note that hard copies will not be provided.
We do not have direct access to students' digital transcripts. However, your home university can verify them through the OpenCerts platform.
SMU uses the OpenCerts system, a blockchain-based platform where each digital document is assigned a permanent and unique cryptographic signature. Digital transcripts are sent directly to students' SMU campus email accounts. Students, home universities, employers, or any recipients can easily verify the authenticity of the transcripts by following the steps on the OpenCerts website.
For more information, please visit the OpenCerts website.
Accommodation
SMU’s unique location in the heart of the city offers plenty of accommodation options within walking distance to SMU, and conveniently accessible to amenities and transportation networks. While students have the flexibility to find and arrange their own housing based on their budget and preferences, we also provide an alternative list of housing options for their convenience. All housing arrangements are ultimately the responsibility of the student. For more information, you can refer to the campus location map here.
Should you dislike your hostel or hotel, and wish to leave before the end of the period of stay, do note that refunds are typically not possible. We advise students to carefully read all fine print when booking their accommodation, especially regarding deposits and refunds.
